Ariana Grande-Butera (born June 26, 1993) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Known for her four-octave vocal range extending into the whistle register, she is widely regarded as one of the most influential artists of her generation. Rolling Stone and Billboard have ranked her among the greatest artists in history, and Time named her one of the world’s 100 most influential people in 2016 and 2019.
Grande began her career on Broadway in 13 (2008) before rising to fame as Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon’s Victorious and Sam & Cat. She achieved commercial success after signing with Republic Records, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 with Yours Truly (2013). Her subsequent albums—including My Everything, Dangerous Woman, Sweetener, Thank U, Next, Positions, and Eternal Sunshine—produced multiple chart-topping singles such as “Problem,” “Thank U, Next,” “7 Rings,” and “Yes, And?”
Ariana Grande is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 90 million records sold worldwide. She has earned two Grammy Awards, numerous chart records, and widespread critical acclaim, while also maintaining a successful acting career, including her role as Glinda in Wicked (2024).
