Sabrina Annlynn Carpenter (born May 11, 1999) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She first rose to prominence playing Maya Hart on the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World (2014–2017) before signing with Hollywood Records, where she released the studio albums Eyes Wide Open (2015), Evolution (2016), Singular: Act I (2018), and Singular: Act II (2019).
Carpenter moved to Island Records in 2021 and achieved her mainstream breakthrough with her fifth album, Emails I Can’t Send (2022), which produced the multi-platinum singles “Nonsense” and “Feather.”
Her sixth album, Short n’ Sweet (2024), debuted atop the US Billboard 200, earned two Grammy Awards, and yielded the hit singles “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” the latter becoming her first US Billboard Hot 100 No. 1. She followed with Man’s Best Friend (2025), her second consecutive No. 1 album, led by the chart-topping single “Manchild.”
Alongside her music career, Carpenter has appeared in a range of films, including Adventures in Babysitting (2016), The Hate U Give (2018), The Short History of the Long Road (2019), Clouds (2020), and Emergency (2022). She has also starred in several Netflix films such as Tall Girl (2019), Tall Girl 2 (2022), and Work It (2020), the latter of which she executive-produced. On Broadway, she portrayed Cady Heron in Mean Girls (2020).
